The Queue begins with familiar scenes of life's streets, transitioning from queues of cars and people to orderly lines of plants, animals, and objects, ultimately leading to the artistic sequencing in culture, literature, and art.
This book starts with familiar sights from children's daily life, enriching them with multicultural elements. It features line illustrations of animals in migrations like the Amazon dry season and the Great Serengeti Migration; Chinese interlocking puzzles representing traditional craftsmanship; colored glass pieces arranged to mimic modern art; and characters arranged to depict works of Wang Xizhi's 'Lanting Xu' and Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy'. The narrative ultimately loops back to the orderly queues of children's kindergarten life.
This book was a Finalist in the 2022 Ananas International Illustration Award and a Top 5 Finalist in the 2021 18th CACC Golden Dragon Award.
